Organizing Challenge: Where’s the Desk?

Many of us spend more time at our workplace than we do at home. Not a great thought, is it? But is that a good reason to clutter the space?

I’m sure you’ve seen desks and computers adorned with 700 (at least!!) little teddy bears, kiddie toys, or assorted other items that could appear immature.

In the cube farms people work in these days, space is at a premium, so even a few of these “décor” items can give management the impression your mind isn’t on the job.

Organizing a small office (read cubicle) can be a challenge, but not impossible.

De-clutter your desk

If you have too much stuff on your desk, it’s difficult to find what you’re looking for. Take this test to understand if your desk really is disorganized. You might be surprised by the results!

I work in a home office, and am frequently taken aback at how it suddenly feels uninhabitable. While working on several projects simultaneously, it takes conscious effort to keep order. If I don’t, my stress level goes through the roof and I accomplish very little.

There have been times I’ve asked myself “Where’s the desk?” Then I know it’s time to deal with it. One way is by reading through the test again. It always helps me refocus.

May your desk always be clear, visible and ready for you to work.

Let’s get organized!
